4 Thoughts I Had While Watching ‘Radhe Shyam’ Trailer Starring Prabhas And Pooja Hegde

I’ve hardly ever been the person to watch a trailer before watching a movie. Yep, I’m the kind that decides whether to watch a movie on how interesting the name sounds and how exciting the poster looks. Amateur, I know. However, very recently that has changed. Why? I’m not completely sure, but I’ve started watching trailers of movies that most people on the internet are talking about – and my very first trailer was Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. After watching that breathtaking trailer, I started watching many more trailers that were released after that. One of them was the Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam. And I have to say, the first look of it was quite cheeky.

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam released its very first trailer on December 23, 2021 during a fan event held at Ramoji Studios in Hyderabad. Needless to say, people were eager to watch this pan India trailer, since the teaser hardly gave away anything. Well, looking at the trailer, I can definitely say that not much has been revealed in it as well.

Having watched the Radhe Shyam trailer four times now, there were a few thoughts that were playing on repeat. And even though you didn’t ask for it, I’m going to tell you what they were. Why? Well, because I really want to know if you thought the same thing as me or not.

Well, here are the 4 thoughts that I had while watching the Radhe Shyam trailer, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde:

1. Breathtaking visuals

A big-budget romantic-drama-thriller is expected to have breathtaking visuals. As much as that wasn’t a big surprise, what took me by surprise about the visuals was the fact that for some reason it reminded me of visuals in Disney movies. I mean, it really did give off similar vibes and I believe that if Disney were to make this trailer, they could have easily animated the entire thing.

2. Very cheeky

One of the first thoughts while and after watching the Radhe Shyam trailer was the fact that it is extremely cheeky. It had all the elements of a clichéd romance movie and there was nothing that was out of the ordinary. Honestly, it seemed like a typical romance drama with great visuals, and I can’t decide whether that is a good thing or not.

3. Where’s the chemistry at?

Now, this might come across as a contradictory point to the above observation, but let me clarify it for you. The story of the movie seems cheeky and like a typical romance drama movie. But I felt like the chemistry between the characters – Prabhas and Pooja Hegde – was nowhere to be found. In fact, this was one of the disappointing things about the Radhe Shyam trailer that both the actors didn’t seem to share that romance magic that you can usually see between actors in romance movies.

4. Tad bit vague

One of my first thoughts, when I watched the Radhe Shyam trailer for the very first time, was the fact that the first half of the trailer was comparatively slow, romantic and the second half was filled with a thriller, and so it seemed as though it belonged to different movies. I mean, it looked as though there was no connection between the first half and the second half except for the fact that the two characters were in both of them. All in all, it honestly looked a bit vague on the first watch.

If you ask me what I felt about the movie, Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, after watching the trailer, I would say that I had mixed feelings with regards to it. Having said that, the visuals have definitely grabbed my attention and they are something that you’d one to see on the big screen. The movie is set to release in theaters on January 14th, 2022.
