Taapsee Pannu Says Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De India’ Helped Her Stay Motivated On ‘Shabaash Mithu’s Sets
In 2007, one of my favourite sports movies was released – Chak De India starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. The movie was inspiring and motivating at the same time. And so, it wasn’t a surprise that the movie and SRK’s performance as Kabir Khan have left many fans in awe. In fact, the motivational speech the actor delivers right before the final match has pushed many people from around the world to give their best shot. And one of them was none other than Taapsee Pannu. Yep, the actress recently revealed that it was Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India that helped her stay motivated on the sets of Shabaash Mithu. Taapsee Pannu also disclosed that she watched the movie several times for encouragement while shooting her sports biopic.

In an interview, Taapsee Pannu revealed that she has watched Chak De India several times when she was shooting the movie Shabaash Mithu which follows the life of former Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj. She also spoke about how it was the motivational speech delivered by Shah Rukh Khan, right before the match, that gave her encouragement to push through.

Taapsee Pannu said, “I was ready to run through a brick wall when I heard that speech for the first time. That is an iconic moment it is a classic. So, I think I keep going back to the film whenever I need encouragement or inspiration. For this film, especially Shabaash Mithu, there were so many times I used to tell my colleagues – the girls who were acting with me – ‘I think we should watch Chak De before we start filming our climax to get into that zone.’ That really helps. “
