Swara Bhasker Defends Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Shabaash Mithu’ After It Tanked At The Box Office
It is sad but true that a film’s success lies in how much it makes at the box office. I mean, rather than focusing on the actors’ performance, writing, directing, etc. the focus is now on how much it mints. And just because of this mindset, a lot of good movies and actors have suffered trolling. Take the very recent instance of Shabaash Mithu. The Taapsee Pannu starrer has tanked at the box office and following that people have taken to Twitter to troll the movie. But that went downside when a user asked Swara Bhasker to comment on Shabaash Mithu’s bad performance at the box office and the actress supported the movie saying that the collection doesn’t determine whether the movie is good or bad.
On Monday, July 18, a Twitter user asked Swara Bhasker to comment on the state of Shabaash Mithu starring Taapsee Pannu at the box office. And the actress replied by saying that the film’s box office collection does not determine whether the film is a good one or a bad one.
I don’t believe that box office earnings are the sole determinant of the value of films.. Some now cult films were box office duds and some films no better than tripe have been hits.. I loved the trailer of #shabashmithu and am catching it in theatres this week! ✨ https://t.co/VzQU4C220z

The user wrote on Twitter, “@ReallySwara as a women lib crusader you thoughts when female-driven films like #shabashmithu tank like how @taapsee.” Swara Bhasker refused to diss her friend’s movie and replied, “I don’t believe that box office earnings are the sole determinant of the value of films. Some now cult films were box office duds and some films no better than tripe have been hits… I loved the trailer of #shabshmithu and am catching it in theatres this week.”
