Sonali Bendre Gets Emotional After Revisiting The Hospital Where She Underwent Cancer Treatment
Sonali Bendre is one of those few talented actresses who have time and again proved their worth. In fact, even after taking a break from acting for quite a while, the actress came back with a loud bang as she made her OTT debut with Zee5’s The Broken News alongside Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat. The show is an adaptation of a popular British series named Press. Keeping all of this aside, let’s focus on what went on while she was on a hiatus from acting. During that time, the actress battled metastatic cancer and underwent treatment before she beat it to the curb. And now, 4 years later, Sonali Bendre visited the same hospital where she underwent treatment. Needless to say, the visit was an emotional one.
Recently, Sonali Bendre took to her Instagram to share an Instagram reel where she shared three pictures – one was when she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer, the second when she was undergoing treatment, and the third was a recent one. In the caption of the reel, the actress revealed that she was sitting in the same chair at the same exact spot in the same hospital in New York where she underwent her treatment.

Expressing the emotions she was feeling after visiting the hospital after 4years, Sonali Bendre wrote, This chair, this view, this exact same spot… 4 years later. From sheer terror to continued hope, so much has changed yet so much remains the same. It was unreal to sit there and see patients going in and I could see that I had been through a similar journey… saw the chemotherapy suite, the same waiting room, faces were different… I felt like telling the patients that there’s HOPE, and I am there on the other side and look at me today I have come in for a visit on the other side of the spectrum…”

The 47-year-old actress concluded her post saying that revisiting the hospital was a bittersweet and emotional day for her. Sonali Bendre went on to say how, as soon as she stepped out, she looked at her son in the eye while the sun was shining on her face and she thanked the universe for everything.
