Sharmila Tagore To Make Her Comeback And OTT Debut With ‘Gulmohar,’ Starring Manoj Bajpayee
The legendary actor Sharmila Tagore is all set to return to films after a significant gap of 12 years. Sharmila ji was last seen in the movie Break Ke Baad, alongside Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan. This time, the versatile actor is making her debut on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. She will star in the movie Gulmohar and will share the screen space with an impressive list of actors- Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma, and Simran Rishi Bagga. The movie will be directed by Rishi Chittella and is scheduled to release in August, 2022.

Gulmohar will be a movie based on the multi-generational Batra family, and their story as they plan to leave their 34 year-old-family home. The presence of Sharmila Tagore in a story such as this will definitely appeal to the Indian viewers.
According to source, while talking about her comeback, Sharmila Tagore expressed her excitement about returning to the film-space. The Aradhana star revealed that she quickly said yes to the film because of its brilliant script. She was quite positive that the audience will definitely love watching the film with their family.

Personally, I’m loving that more and more film actors are making their OTT debuts because the space is brimming with experimental content that really lets them try out roles they’ve never played before.
