‘Shabaash Mithu’ Song “Hindustan Meri Jaan”: Amit Trivedi Voices The Spirit Of Sportsmanship And Patriotism
While I’m not a fan of sports drama films but I am a fan of women who empower women. Despite my little to zero interest in sports and cricket, I do look upto the former Test and ODI caption of the Indian women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj. She not only brought glory to India with her wins but she also made history while carving a place for women in cricket. And let’s not forget that she led the Indian women’s cricket team to the finals of Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2017. This is also why I’m holding my breath for the upcoming biographical sports drama film Shabaash Mithu. Starring Taapsee Pannu in titular role, the film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom 18 Studios. and is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 15. Ahead of the big release, the makers have dropped a new track from the film titled ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ and it’s giving us goosebumps.
Sung by Amit Trivedi and Kailash Kher, the lyrics of this song from Shabaash Mithu have been penned by Swanand Kirkire. ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ has been composed by Amit Trivedi under the banner of T-series. While the film chronicles the life of the cricketer from her childhood to bringing home wins and representing India on an international level, this song also covers the story of the Indian skipper along with the essence of patriotism. This song follows the journey of Mithali Raj, portrayed by Taapsee Pannu, as she goes from playing cricket in the gully as a kid to playing for the country and taking the Indian Women’s National Cricket team international.
