Priyamani Says One Should Show Positive Attitude Towards Their Body Even If They Are A Plus-Size Person. Preach!

Unlike most women (I’m guessing) my relationship with weighing scales has been a rather bumpy one in that we don’t get along with each other – almost at all times. There was a time when I could eat all the carbs in the world and it wouldn’t show on my hips. Times when I was confident about wearing shorts, sleeveless, and even crop tops without worrying. It was the time when my weight met society’s beauty standards. However nothing lasts forever, and as soon as the numbers on my weighing scale increased, I was sometimes gently and sometimes not so gently asked to reduce weight, Something the Family Man actress Priyamani would relate with. Yep, the actress who has time and again been fat-shamed on social media opened up about how it is okay to be a plus-size person and spoke about body positivity.

In her recent interview, Priyamani opened up about having a positive attitude towards one’s own body even if that person is a plus-size person. She further goes on to slam her trolls stating that they believe they have the right to comment however they like without realising the effect it can have on the person.

Priyamani further went on to say that social media is just a part of a person’s life and at times it can become really tricky to see that. However, she added that she enjoys the memes that get made on her. But along with all the light-heartedness comes certain comments that are fat-shaming and downright “harsh to digest”. And so she doesn’t really bother with such comments and ends up blocking such trolls immediately.

Speaking about having a positive attitude towards one’s own body, Priyamani said, “I would not say go for a heavy workout. But being happy is of utmost importance. It is okay even if you are a plus-size person. Focus on what is needed rather than just browsing on your phone and doing nothing. Shell some time out to do what you love and take care of your health positively. Engage in a light workout or just do some household chores to get the body moving.” Talking about her relationship with social media, the actress added, “I like to show only what I want to show to the fans. If they like me for that good even if they don’t it’s okay. Trolls feel that they have the authority to say what they want to say. Some people might take it very seriously. Social media is tricky. You don’t have to show everything to your fans and followers.”
