‘PS-1’s New Track ‘Ponni Nadhi’ By AR Rahman And Sivamani Is Giving Us Goosebumps With Its Composition

One of the biggest and most awaited movies in recent times has to be Ponniyin Selvan: I or PS-1 directed by none other than the master Mani Ratnam. The period drama movie featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and others as leads is the first part of the two-series movie. And last month, the makers of the movie dropped its teaser and it was enough to create a buzz around it – especially with how gorgeous the visuals looked and how beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked. And now, the makers of PS-1 dropped its much-awaited first song ‘Ponni Nadhi’. Having heard the song multiple times, I can say without a doubt that this collaboration of AR Rahman and Sivamani has turned out to be a musical masterpiece.

On August 1, the makers of PS-1 dropped its first song ‘Ponni Nadhi’ and it is an experience. AR Rahman, AR Raihanah, and Bamba Bakya’s voices bring out the magic of that era while musically bringing out the visuals. And the lyrics by Ilango Krishnan are literally the icing on the cake.

The song ‘Ponni Nadhi’ of PS-1 had to be top-notch – after all, it has Mani Ratnam’s vision which is backed perfectly by AR Rahman’s voice and Sivamani’s thumping beats. Also, the detailing of the flute by Kamalakar and the tune of the violin by Vignesh take this song to a whole new level.

From the visuals of the song, it seems as though the track tells the start of the story where Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan (played by Karthi) travels with his horse near the Veera Narayana lake on Aadi Perukku. The very first song of PS-1, ‘Ponni Nadhi’, was celebrated by the cast and crew at the Expres Avenue Mall where it was launched in a grand way.

PS-1 by Mani Ratnam is all set to have a worldwide release on September 30, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
