Ever since Parineeti Chopra made her acting debut in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, and then Ishaqzaade, she’s won us over. She followed it up with class acts in Shuddh Desi Romance, Hasee Toh Phasee, and many more films. But the year 2021 was special and remarkable for Parineeti Chopra as she broke stereotypes by choosing cliche-shattering projects. Her first film of the year was The Girl on the Train, the film is a remake of a British film of the same name. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the film was released on 26 February 2021 on Netflix. Parineeti Chopra managed to impress us all in the role of an alcoholic and troubled divorcee who gets embroiled in a murder investigation. Her next film was directed by Dibakar Banerjee, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar was a black comedy featuring Arjun Kapoor. Her performance in the film was praised by many critics and noted the actress as ‘the best part of the film.’ She also starred in the biographical sports drama Saina where she portrayed the role of talented badminton player Saina Nehwal. Her stellar performance in the film received a lot of praises from critics and fans. The Golmaal Again actress said, “It’s a year filled with gratitude for me. 2021 was the year I had been waiting for, having taken the biggest plunge of my career in the forms of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, The Girl on the Train, and Saina and thankfully, each one of them paid off. 2021 made me realise that audiences expect me to be clutter-breaking and I couldn’t agree with them more; I am more thankful to them for showering me with all the love for my performances.”

She further added that the year 2021 has bolstered her belief in picking subjects that are remarkably ahead of the curve and present the Kesari actress in the most unique way on the big screen. She is also thankful towards her fans, makers, and producers who didn’t give up on her and motivated her to put her best foot forward.
