Mrunal Thakur Said She Was Compared To A ‘Matka’ By Indian Trolls For Her Pear-Shaped Physique

In all my 20+ years on this earth as a woman, I feel like a woman’s body might as well just be some type of public property at this point. People have this weird entitlement towards it, be it in form of physically forcing their right on the female body or verbally assaulting it with words. And these societal standards and expectations are what cause most of the insecurities that women tend to have about themselves. One of these women is actress Mrunal Thakur who says that she has been shamed by the Indian populace for her pear-shaped or “matka” body. Can we just stop shaming women?

Mrunal Thakur opened up about her experience with being shamed for her pear-shaped physique wherein she has a bigger lower body as compared to her upper body, being equated to a matka as well! She further said that even in her professional circle, she was asked to lose weight from her lower body (although it is proven that spot reduction isn’t a thing). Mrunal further said that this is just her body type and if she is to try and lose weight from her lower body, her face and upper body will get slimmer too, making her shape the same. So according to sources, further adds, “So rather than people calling me matka and me feeling bad, I take a lot of pride in it.”
