Veteran Singer Lata Mangeshkar’s Health Deteriorates, Doctors Say ‘She Is Critical’
Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar has been keeping unwell for the past month and was admitted to the ICU of a Mumbai hospital. Sharing an update on her health, her doctor from Breach Candy Hospital has revealed in a statement that her, “health condition has deteriorated again.” The legendary singer had contracted with COVID 19 early this year and was rushed to hospital wherein she was also diagnosed with pneumonia. As per the statement, the doctors further mentioned “Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition has deteriorated again, she is critical. She is on a ventilator. She is still in ICU and will remain under the observation of doctors.”

Speaking to a news portal, Associate Professor, Dr Pratit Samdani had shared earlier that the singer has been conscious. “Lata Mangeshkar continues to remain in the ICU. She has been off the ventilator for over three days and is currently conscious.” With signs of improvement in heath, the doctors were also preparing for her discharge during the last few weeks.
Known as the melody queen of India, the 92-year-old legendary singer is a recipient of India’s highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna and has also won honours like Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and multiple National Film Awards.
