‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 7 Ep 2 Review: We Love Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor’s Atrangi Jodi But What’s With All The Disney References?
The only reason we all love that Koffee is because of all the tea it spills. The first episode featuring the new BFFs in tinsel town, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, was quite a riot and left us wanting so much more. And after a week-long wait, Karan Johar came back with a bang with Sara Ali Khan and Jahnvi Kapoor on the Koffee couch. The second episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7 just dropped on Disney+ Hotstar and it looks like we have yet another set of new BFFs from B-town on the couch. Sara and Janhvi may not have done a film together but they did date two brothers around the same time and the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown helped these two bond and create a stronger friendship. Well, we sure hope it lasts. But we have our own issues with this episode.
Polar Opposite BFFs!
While Sara Ali Khan has had a much different and less protected upbringing, Janhvi Kapoor has grown up in a lot more protected environment. Considering the fact that Sara had to grow up and mature faster due to her parent’s separation, her personality is starkly different from that of Janhvi’s which makes them a rather unusual pair. But we’re not complaining. We love how Sara pushes Janhvi to do unusual stuff while the latter puts the former in rather dangerous situations in a bid to find some adventure. What a risky pair!
Sara Ali Khan And Janhvi Kapoor’s Shared Love Interests!
As if dating two brothers wasn’t enough, this duo now seems to have a common or shall I say shared crush on *drum rolls please* Vijay Deverakonda! Seems like he’s their cheese. We love how cheesy this is getting. While Sara tried to avoid manifesting another relationship on the Koffee With Karan couch, she did reveal her adorable lil crush on the Tollywood actor multiple times throughout the show but there was a lot of teasing that came Janhvi’s way and we loved how she kept blushing.
Sara Ali Khan Owned Being A Cheapskate
From her wedding plans to selling the Koffee With Karan hamper to saving money on hotel room bookings, Sara Ali Khan really owned being a cheapskate and that’s relatable AF. I mean, if we had a choice between a room with no heater for 6k a night and a room with a heater for 12k a night, we’d totally pick the one without the heater. We could probably buy a small room heater for less than 6K! Also, I’d totally sell KWK gifts for money! We stan Sara! Also, while we’re at it, Janhvi Kapoor once shoplifted a LOLLIPOP.
But Sara Ali Khan’s Rapid Fire Takes The Cake!
Sara Ali Khan’s candidness throughout the show and her honest answers during the rapid-fire really won our hearts. She didn’t hold back and let her crazy self out for a ride around Koffee town and we loved it.
Verdict: What Is With All The Disney References?
All said and done, it was a fun episode but nowhere as charming as Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s episode. But then again, when has anyone ever managed to match up to Baba’s energy and craziness levels? Now, we all know that Janhvi Kapoor has been brought up like a precious little princess while Sara Ali Khan has had it rough. Though Sara owns being her crazy self and Janhvi owns having a privileged life, what is with all those Disney princess references. Throughout the episode, not only was KJo babying and coochie cooing Janhvi Kapoor but there were sooo many Disney references that it made us cringe hard. From Janhvi Kapoor’s teacher calling her Disney eyes to hoping Sara Ali Khan doesn’t have to kiss too many frogs to find her Prince Charming to Snow White and the seven dwarfs, we’re heard far too many. TBH, after all those references, we’ve had enough Disney princess stuff to last us a lifetime. I doubt any of us can stomach another one anytime soon (Imma barf if someone even says Disney, to begin with).

Having said that, Koffee With Karan is all about spilling the tea or the beans but IMHO, but nothing was spilt in this episode. It may have been all fun and laughs and “references” but apart from the fact that Sara Ali Khan fancies Vijay Deverakonda and the confirmation of Sara and Janhvi’s rumoured relationships with two brothers (rumoured to be Veer and Shikhar Pahariya) who live in the same building as Karan Johar’s, there was no other tea! FYI, Sara Ali Khan had been linked to Veer Pahariya for the longest time and Janhvi Kapoor was believed to be dating Shikhar Pahariya. Both the actresses confirmed their relationship with the brothers on Koffee With Karan but ex-boyfriend ke info ke saath kya karen? WHERE IS MY TEA? Oh well, here’s to hoping the next episode has more tea and less cringe than this one.
