Kiara Advani Aptly Explains Why Actresses In Comedy Films Aren’t As Appreciated As Male Protagonists
What do the films Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Arjun Patiala and Good Newwz have in common? If you notice closely, these are all comedy films, but the male actors in the film have shouldered around 70% of the comedy and it is them who have delivered the most punches. While the female actors did have a role to play but they were not given much to contribute to the comedy in the movie. Good Newwz actress Kiara Advani is currently gearing up for the release of her highly-awaited film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and she is disappointed with the way comedy films are written.
Kiara Advani’s Thoughts On Comedy Films
Talking to PTI, the 29-year-old actor has said that it is rare that in a comedy film when a woman gets to add a punch and she is still ‘craving’ to do that. Kiara added that even though she is a part of these films that have an ‘interesting character arc’ but she cannot compare her work to the male protagonist in the film.

She also went on to add that the female actors cannot compare to what the male actors do in comedy films because ‘unfortunately’ that is how the scripts are written. Kiara Advani also expressed her disappointment in this. She further added that this is the time when actresses can ask their directors that they are expecting more from the film.

Kiara’s upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will release in theatres on May 20, 2022. The cast of the film includes Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav as well.
