Kangana Ranaut Takes A Dig At Deepika Padukone’s ‘Gehraiyaan’, Calls It Pornography. Wow, Exaggerate Much?
Having watched Gehraiyaan, I have to say that it was quite underwhelming given all the hype. But it was one of those movies that showed infidelity with a whole new perspective. Needless to say, not a lot of people thought that. Many of them came after Gehraiyaan and Deepika Padukone stating that you don’t need to show so much ‘skin’ or make ‘pornographic scenes’ to ensure that a movie works. Yep, I’m talking about Kangana Ranaut. She recently made a dig at the movie and Deepika Padukone stating that no amount of skin or pornography can save a movie.

Gehraiyaan was released on Amazon Prime Video on February 11th, 2022. While most appreciated Deepika Padukone in the movie, there were some who thought that the movie wasn’t as great as it was hyped nor was the actor’s performance. Among the many who thought that was our very own Kangana Ranaut. In a recent Instagram story that she put up, she stated how the movie in the name of millennial/new age sells trash and that no amount of skin showing or pornography can save it.

In her Instagram story, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “I am also a millennial but I identify and understand this kind of romance… in the name of millennial/new age/urban movies don’t sell trash pls… bad movies are bad movies no amount of skin show or pornography can save it… it’s a basic fact koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai.”

Honestly, I do agree that neither the movie nor the performance by Deepika Padukone was up to the hype. But this kind of trash-talking about the movie was definitely uncalled for. I get that you don’t like the movie but boiling it down to pornography and showing just skin is quite insulting and disrespectful. But I guess we all have kinda come to expect that from the Queen actress.
