Jacqueline Fernandez Questioned In Financial Fraud Case In Relation To Conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar

A while back, actress Jacqueline Fernandez was in the news for her connection to conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. And while Jacqueline Fernandez has since gone into be featured in the news for a lot of different things, the Sukesh Chandrasekhar still continues. 

On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogated actor Jacqueline Fernandez in relation to a money laundering case involving convicted conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The actor also has been previously investigated in the case. Jacqueline reportedly knew Sukesh well and was in a relationship with him. Nevertheless, the actor has remained silent on the subject.

Jacqueline came to the ED offices on Monday, following a summons from a federal agency to give her testimony in the matter. In April, the agency attached the actor’s assets worth ₹7.27 crore in a case brought under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

Sources say that the ED’s present case is based on an FIR filed by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) against the suspected conman, who was duping individuals by calling them through spoofing calls. The numbers on their phones appeared to be from government officers, and he purported to be one and offered to aid people for a fee. Sukesh and his wife, actress Leena Maria Paul, were both detained in September 2021 by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in a duping case.

During the investigation, Sukesh Chandrasekhar told authorities that he had given Jacqueline numerous presents totalling ₹5.71 crores, the majority of which came from the profits of criminal operations such as extortion. Sukesh had also given money amounting to $172,913 and Aus $26,740 to Jacqueline’s close family members, according to the ED. According to the agency, Sukesh Chandrasekhar reportedly paid ₹15 lakhs in cash to a writer on Jacqueline’s behalf as an advance for writing the script for her web series.

When photos of Jacqueline with Sukesh leaked on the internet in January, she replied to the claims by saying that she was going through a hard phase. She said that she was sure her friends and followers would see her through it. She further requested media people to not to spread photographs that infringe on her private and personal space. Earlier this year, the ED questioned actor Nora Fatehi in relation to the same case.
