‘Five, Six, Seven, Eight’ Trailer: This Tamil Series On Dance Eerily Reminds Us Of Remo DSouza’s ‘Anybody Can Dance’

One of my favourite kinds of web series and movies is where there is a journey of growth. The movies and web series that tell stories about people who go from rags to riches. So, you know that I am always looking for such content and currently on my radar is the Tamil original series Five, Six, Seven, Eight. Directed by AL Vijay, Prasanna JK, and Mrudhula Sridharan, the trailer for 5678 is out and it looks amazing. From the trailer, it is visible that all the dance lovers are going to be grooving to the beats and to the story of the series.

On November 9, the makers of Five, Six, Seven, Eight released its trailer, and having watched it, it seems to be a story about the journey of young and talented teenage dancers that come from the lower class and yearn to achieve their dreams of dancing after they see teenagers from the gated community get professional training. And to help them achieve this, a member of the gated community, Keshav, not only encourages them but also joins in on their journey.

The first thought that I had when I saw the trailer of 5678 was that it looked very similar to ABCD. Apart from having a similar plotline, there are many sections where the cinematography and the lighting, and even the costumes eerily remind you of Remo DSouza’s dance movies.

Five, Six, Seven, Eight is directed by a group of extremely talented directors like AL Vijay, Prasanna JK, and Mrudhula Sridharan. Speaking about the series, AL Vijay said, “This project is very close to my heart and special for me as I have worked with some amazing people on this… 5678 is a combined product of creativity.” He also added that there are not many films/shows that are based on this particular theme and so people – especially youngsters – will connect with it.

Five, Six, Seven, Eight is set to stream on Zee5 from November 18, 2022.
