Alia Bhatt Shares Ayan Mukerji’s Vision Of Brahmastra That Explains Each Astra Of His Astraverse

One cinematic project everyone is waiting for with bated breaths to release is Brahmastra. This Ayan Mukerji directorial is divided into three parts, the first of which will release this year. The trailer of the film gives a broad idea that the trilogy is based on the principles of ancient India and Hindu culture. The name of the movie itself, Brahmastra, means it is a weapon created by Lord Brahma under which come several other weapons which hold the power of the elements of Earth namely water, fire, air and Earth. Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram to share a video of Ayan Mukerji explaining this very vast concept in simple terms and also co-related his film with the terminology to help the audience understand the film better.

The video began by showing the various astras that will be shown in the film. Their names are Vanarastra, Nandiastra, Prabhastra, Jalastra, Pawanastra, and Brahmastra. Then, Ayan Mukerji goes into a detailed explanation of how for many years, they have been building this whole Astraverse by tracing its history and its origins in ancient India.

He also gives explains how the sages who were meditating in the Himalayas were blessed with a Brahma Shakti out of which derived the various astras. The Brahmastra is the most powerful weapon of all and the sages took a vow to protect these astras which were passed down from one generation to the other. The first part of the film is set in modern India where Ranbir Kapoor AKA Shiva is not aware that he is an astra himself, and specifically, the Agniastra. Ayan further added that this film is a tribute to our roots.
