‘Aranyak’ Teaser: Raveena Tandon’s Big Debut On Netflix Has Our Attention

With all the movies and shows pandering to holiday romance in the air, I think it is fair to say that Netflix is going to be ready with its array of multiple Christmas rom-coms in an attempt to spread the holiday cheer. I tend not to enjoy this content (no shade to anyone who does though) because I feel like it is too formulaic and unoriginal. The same tropes keep repeating themselves until you’re stuck in an infinite and vicious loop of the same cookie-cutter romances. Hence, you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I watched Netflix’s new teaser of the upcoming series Aranyak which is due to release on December 10. The series castes Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ashutosh Rana, Zakir Hussain and Meghna Malik.

Needless to say, I am the most enthusiastic about Raveena Tandon making her debut on a streaming platform through Aranyak as she plays a cop named Kasturi Dogra. She is also set to be seen in Prashant Neel’s K.G.F: Chapter 2 which will be released in 2022.

The plot of Aranyak is set in mountainous terrain and talks about local mythology and folklore. Aranyak is a thriller and mystery which can be seen in the teaser due to the overall dark colour palette used throughout the movie and the intense background music. I also love Raveena’s avatar as a cop, she looks really good!

I am also super excited to see Parambrata Chattopadhyay in Aranyak. He is one of the more talented ones in the industry and is criminally underrated in my opinion. Not only did I love his performance in Kahaani (2012) where he debuted in Bollywood alongside Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, but also he has worked in multiple Bengali movies out of which I have watched one called Samantaral (2017) and when I tell you that it is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking movies I have ever seen, I am not exaggerating. Chattopadhyay’s performance in that movie was awe-inspiring, to say the least. 10/10, recommended.

So now that I have hyped up Aranyak to you (because I am very excited about it and I plan to make it everyone’s problem) I hope you will be watching it as diligently as I will be on December 10. I love the casting so far and would love to see how their chemistry develops in Aranyak. I really hope the show lives up to its hype as I am looking forward to something fresh and new to watch for this holiday season.
