Anushka Sharma Reveals Why She Decided To Step Away From Her Production House Clean Slate Filmz
After establishing herself as a versatile actress, Anushka Sharma tried her hand at production. She launched a production house, Clean Slate Filmz, with her brother Karnesh Ssharma in 2013 which went on to produce some of the most eccentric Bollywood projects like NH10, Bulbbul, Pari and Paatal Lok among others. All these projects were well received by the audience as they all presented a unique concept. But in March 2022, the Sultan actress announced that she is stepping away from Clean Slate Filmz which is now solely being managed by Karnesh. Recently, she has revealed why she took the decision to step down as a producer.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Anushka Sharma got candid about her decision about leaving her production house. She said that the industry she is in, is a ‘rat race’ and she is more than a rat. She said that she wants to enjoy her life. Calling her decision a sacrifice, Anushka elaborated that her love for films also played a crucial role in this. Sharma said that she likes the process of discussing ideas on how to execute a scene in a film, thinking about how the audience will react to it and also being in a room full of ‘creative people’.

She had also penned a lengthy note on Instagram announcing her exit from Clean late Filmz wherein she had also mentioned that being a mother who has ‘chosen’ to be an actress she has to balance her life in a new way altogether. Anushka Sharma also said that she is confident that her brother Karnesh will take their vision forward.

The most recent project produced by Clean Slate Filmz is Mai: A Mother’s Rage, which was released on Netflix. Meanwhile, on the work front, Anushka is currently preparing for her role as the former captain of the Indian national women’s cricket team, Jhulan Goswami, in the movie Chakda Xpress.
