Nagaland Actress Andrea Kevichüsa Recalls Racist Incident, Hopes Her Film ‘Anek’ Will Change People’s Perspectives
Okay, let’s be honest. People have a tendency to indulge in subtle racism as they call someone with slanted eyes ‘Chini’ or ‘momos’. This has become so casual that they don’t even realise what they have said is actually a racist remark and not a joke. East-Indian actors, especially, are subjected to such remarks more. The audience assumes them to be hailing from a different country altogether and does not know but they are actually Indian. Recently, Nagaland actress Andrea Kevichüsa recalled one such incident that happened with her that left her in shock.
Andrea Kevichüsa’s Racist Experience
In an interview with DNA, Andrea recalled the incident that took place when she was 16-years-old. She said that she told the makeup artist that she has a flight to catch back to Nagaland and she is excited to meet her parents as she has been away from them for some time. To this, the makeup artists replied by asking her when is she flying back to her country.
