‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ Trailer: This Extraordinary Journey Of An Ordinary Man Gives Flashes Of Aamir Khan In ‘PK’. But It Looks Promising
The most awaited film of the year–Laal Singh Chaddha‘s trailer has finally arrived. Starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni in pivotal roles, fans got the first glimpse of the film at the the Narendra Modi Stadium during the first innings of the Indian Premier League 2022. Announcing the same, Aamir Khan’s production house and Kareena Kapoor Khan dropped special posts about the trailer launch.

The two minutes forty-five seconds long trailer opens with a feather flying in the air, with Aamir Khan entering our screens in his already popular sardar avatar. Telling an extraordinary tale of an ordinary man–Laal Singh Chaddha (played by Aamir Khan), the trailer gives us a glimpse of his journey. Through the many sequences that rush quickly on our screens, Aamir Khan’s Laal and his inquisitive round eyes with a smile that sparkles in innocence, will give you flashes of his character from PK. The film is a Hindi adaptation of the popular Hollywood film Forrest Gump, starring actor Tom Hanks.

As the scenes soon take a flight from a village hand pump to the border and then to the lush green hills, the trailer keeps the essence of warmth and love barkaraar throughout. Also, starring actress Mona Singh, who is seen playing the role of Aamir’s mother in the film, which definitely is unsettling, brings her charm to the screen, again. The trailer also doesn’t fail to deliver Aamir Khan’s signature aesthetics with scenic views garnishing the narrative.
Collaborating with Aamir after the success of 3 Idiots, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character Rupa adds a refreshing character journey to her film kitty, and honestly, I am very excited to know more about her. Another anticipated Bollywood debut through the film is by actor Chaitanya Akkineni, who has also managed to squeeze into minor seconds of the trailer. While everything from dancing on the terrace, Laal’s sweet relationship with his mother, to his idea of life, that draws comparison with ‘golgappa,’ seems like a perfect package wrapped in classic Aamir Khan style, his not so accurate Punjabi accent might put you off a bit.

Interestingly, the character graphs of every character seem to take multiple leaps with a hint of nostalgia weaved into their physical appearances and styling. What we love the most is Laal’s slow-witted approach and zest to overcome his disabilities, that promises to treat us with some hope. And we can’t wait to watch this film. Furthermore, making the launch twice grander, the trailer was welcomed by a huge fanfare today on television amidst the T20 finale match that gave the cricket and movie buffs across the world an adrenaline rush. It is also the first time for any Hindi film to have launched its trailer on such a massive scale.
