8 Indian Actors That Starred In Hollywood Movies And Shows In 2021. Desis Going Global!

Bollywood stars are making their mark on the global entertainment market. Multiple Bollywood stars have been seen in Hollywood movies giving exemplary performances and not only impressing international audiences but also making us Indians proud. Indian actors are being spoken about and celebrated throughout the world and some of them are still sadly very underrated. However, I personally would like to change that and would like for us Indians to actually notice these Indian actors more. Hence, here is a lost of Indian actors that blew me (and the entire world) away with their Hollywood performances,

1. Nitu Chandra Srivastava – Never Back Down: Revolt

Nitu Chandra Srivastava was first seen in Bollywood movie Garam Masala (2005) and has since been seen in multiple other Indian movies in different languages. However, she made her Hollywood debut this year as she was seen in Never Back Down: Revolt directed by Kellie Madison and written by Audrey Arkins. The Indian actor played the role of Jaya, a woman who is kidnapped and is forced to fight in an underground fight club to survive.

2. Kubbra Sait – Foundation

3. Pravesh Rana – Foundation And Serpent

Indian actor Pravesh Rana was also seen alongside Kubbra Sait playing Rowan, a lieutenant that is loyal to Kubbra’s Phara. He will most likely also be seen in the second season of the series. He was also seen in The Serpent, a Netflix series based on Charles Sobhraj.

4. Adarsh Gourav – The White Tiger

Adarsh Gourav was already a known name as he was seen in movies such as My Name is Khan and Mom. However, he was first taken seriously when he played the role of Balram Halwai or “Ashok Sharma.” As someone who has read Aravind Adiga’s The White Tiger, I was looking forward to watching this one. Despite being pitched against actors such as Priyanka Chopra and RajKummar Rao, Gourav shone in this Hollywood hit.

5. Harish Patel – Marvel’s The Eternals

She played the role of a grown-up Sati, a character originally seen as a child in the Matrix trilogy.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Army of the Dead was a very anticipated Hollywood release. Huma Qureshi was seen in the movie playing the role of Geeta, a supporting character whose role was important for the plot of the movie.

Whew! That’s quite a list if I do say so myself. The amount of praise and recognition Indian actors are getting in Hollywood and around the world makes my heart swell with pride. Indians have been stereotyped and put into boxes for too long and it is about time people see us for the talented bunch we actually are.
