Elliot Page Blows Us Away By How Amazing He Looks In A Shirtless Mirror Selfie. How Are You So Attractive, Elliot?!

I think many of us who don’t belong to marginalized groups take for granted the importance of representation. And I have also been ignorant enough to do this in the past. Many such people will question the need for having characters in shows from different races, castes, colours, sexualities, gender identities etc. There is also a constant argument that most homophobic people use asking, “wHy aRe tHeY RuBbInG ThEiR QuEeRnEsS In oUr fAcEs?” (As if the straights haven’t forced their heterosexual norms onto them for centuries). Anyway, I digress. Luckily, we have had a little more representation for the LGBTQ+ not only through works of fiction but also with more celebs and public figures coming out publicly. Celebs such as Demi Lovato and Kehlani came out as members of the community earlier this year. Similarly, Juno and Umbrella Acadamy actor Elliot Page came out as transgender late last year and has been open about his struggles regarding his gender identity and his journey to discovering himself. Elliot Page recently posted a picture looking hot as all hell and I need to gush over it!

Elliot Page posted a shirtless mirror selfie to his Instagram with the caption, “Oh good my new phone works” what a tease! He was seen donning black pants and shoes. He had also accessorised with a chain around his neck. Have I already told you how good I think he looks?

Elliot was also recently seen in a simple and classic black suit at the Met Gala in New York City which was his first event after he came out as trans last year. In an interview with Oprah which happened in May 2021, Elliot Page opened up and said, “I want people to know that not only has it been life-changing for me, I do believe it is life-saving and it’s the case for so many people,” when asked if he has allowed himself the fullness of being able to explore what that vision as Elliot Page would look like he smiled and said, “From where I’m sitting now, all I know is the degree of comfort, sense of home, ability to be present, feels so profound and life-changing. And so what I look forward to is getting to move through the world in that way.” Elliot also added, “(I) feel comfortable in my body for probably the first time”. He continued, “This is incredibly new. I feel like I haven’t gotten to be myself since I was 10 years old.”

As someone who is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, seeing how well Elliot Page is doing makes my heart warm. Amidst all the unnecessary hate and backlash that trans people get, it is really nice seeing stories of those that are able to embrace their true selves and be proud of who they are. This representation matters because it gives others the courage and safe space to do the same. As Captain Raymond Holt rightfully said, “Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place.”
