I feel like a lot of people like us who come from a privileged background take education for granted, which is a shame. But if you are to go and speak to anyone from the older generation who weren’t able to complete their education, you’d know that that’s usually their biggest regret. That is exactly what I felt when I watched the trailer of Dasvi starring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam Dhar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. This Maddock production is directed by Tushar Jalota and when I say this trailer has me going back for more, I do not exaggerate.
The story revolves around Ganga Ram Chaudhary, a desi politician who like many politicians in our country, isn’t educated. When he goes to jail he meets Yami Gautam who plays his jailer. Chaudhary makes it his mission to pass grade 10 and vows to not become the CM if he is unable to do so. With a tough jailer and wife who wants his CM ki khursi, the road to education is full of hilarious twists and turns for Ganga Ram Chaudhary.

Firstly, I am loving everyone’s new avatar in Dasvi. Yami Gautam as a cop is not something I knew I needed but clearly, I did! Moreover, Abhishek Bachchan has emulated the role of a desi jaat politician pretty well, if the Dasvi trailer is any indication. I also love the homemaker turned politician aspect given by the talented, Nimrat Kaur.

Also, while most things fail to make me laugh out loud, the Dasvi trailer did induce a chuckle here and there and by the way the writing is done, I am genuinely looking forward to more. The dialogue delivery, background score and chemistry between the actors seem extremely promising and I don’t know about you but I am super excited to watch Dasvi.
Dasvi is all set to stream on Jio Cinema and Netflix from April 7, 2022.
