On World Education Day, Shilpa Shetty Shares A Throwback Childhood Photo And Advocates For Right To Education For Kids

If there is one thing that I am grateful for is that my parents never denied my brother or me, education. They always encouraged both of us to study and be well-educated. And that is one thing that I wish to do just not for my own kids (if and when I have them) but also for kids that aren’t as privileged as I am. This is why I continue working with an NGO that allows me to interact with kids and teach them something that will help them build. Why am I sharing this with you? Well, because it is World Education Day today ensuring that we provide kids with the right to education is the ultimate goal. In fact, even Shilpa Shetty in her recent post talks about the same with a throwback picture from her childhood, school-going days.

Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram to share a childhood, school-going picture of herself along with an inspiring caption that encourages people to ensure that kids have the right to education. She talks about how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected children, how they can’t do normal activities and urges people to come together to ensure that the pandemic doesn’t negatively impact their education.

Shilpa Shetty sharing the picture wrote, “My heart goes out to all the kids around the globe who have been severely affected by the pandemic. they can’t interact with friends, can’t have a wholesome all-rounded (physical) education; but this is the need of the hour. while we can’t blatantly expose them to the virus; we need to find ways to make it up to them. we need to take baby steps.”

In her post, Shilpa Shetty further talks about how this World Education Day we all should come together to ensure that kids from all walks of life can exercise their right to education while being sure that they are safe and healthy. The actress concluded, “Here’s to a stronger Gen Next. Stay safe, stay healthy! Happy World Education Day!”

I do believe that the Covid-19 pandemic has had one of the biggest impacts on the education of kids. With all the memes going around about how kids sleep during online classes, we often forget that there are kids who don’t have the necessary technology to attend school online. We forget that not all kids are privileged enough to go to school. And what better way than today for me to encourage y’all to ensure that every kid you know exercises their right to education.
