Jantar Mantar Protest: CJP Ex-Spokesperson Vijeta Dahiya Reacts To Viral Burger Video, Calls It “Propaganda”
CJP ex-spokesperson Vijeta Dahiya has THIS to say about his viral burger video.
The ongoing protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party in the country’s capital, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, have shaken the world. From marching to the PM’s residence to hunger strikes, the protest is taking a new turn every minute. Amid all of this, one major incident added another controversy to the chaos. It was when a viral video of Vijeta Dahiya, former spokesperson of CJP, eating a burger amid the strike, surfaced.
The video featured him standing outside a fast-food outlet, eating a burger. The incident triggered many, including his co-members from CJP, who later labeled this as an insensitive act. This led to CJP members announcing his removal as an answer to his “deeply problematic” decision of eating amid hunger strikes and protests. They also alleged that it wasn’t the right thing to do, especially when protestors were being brutally beaten by the Delhi police, with protestors being bombed by tear gas on the same day.
Soon after the CJP announced his removal; many people supported the decision by pointing out his absence from late-night protest rallies. Reacting to the same, Dahiya spoke to NDTV and said, “If someone is hungry, then they do eat.” He further went on to say that he doesn’t think his actions were wrong and that he supports a person’s right to food and dignified life. Responding to CJP’s decision, Dahiya also said that he’s okay with it because he believes the cause is bigger than his removal. He explained that every protestor knows how much he’s given to the protest, and if his sacrifice strengthens the cause, he is completely okay with it.

Dahiya further went on to call the move and controversy around the burger video “propaganda.” For the unversed, India is currently witnessing one of the largest protests led by students, especially medical aspirants, demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan (education minister), reflecting on the errors in major examinations and multiple NEET paper leaks.
The protest went intense last evening when Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from the opposition attacked the center for answers and were later detained by the Delhi police. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, leading the Opposition, also supported the cause and demanded answers.
