Body Hair Activist Esther Calixte-Bea Flaunts Chest Hair To Break Strict Beauty Norms. We Stan!
At times, I do feel insecure about my body even though I don’t care about people’s judgement, their words can be hurtful. You know, judging women’s bodies has become society’s favourite pastime but there are many women who don’t like to follow the strict and unachievable beauty standards and they are quite vocal about it as well and this body hair activist from Canada is one of them. Esther Calixte-Bea likes to flaunt her hairy chest as she wants to normalise female body hair. She is so inspiring, we stan!
Esther Calixte-Bea started the ‘Queen Esie’s Lavendar project’ in the year 2019 in order to rewrite the beauty standards of women and ‘break the curse’. She shared a bunch of pictures of herself in which she is flaunting her chest hair while wearing a gorgeous lavender dress with a plunging neckline. The artist and activist from Canada shared a lengthy note on her social media account after her ‘Lavender Project officially turned three. In the note, she said that she made a lavender-coloured dress showing off her chest hair for the very first time in the summer of 2019. She added that she covered her chest hair for years as she was ashamed, scared and hated herself.

Furthermore, Esther mentioned that she wanted to be like every other girl and wanted to fit the standard but she decide to end her personal battle with chest hair by creating an empowering project that challenged the taboo of female body hair and femininity. Now, she wants to tell the whole world that female body hair can be beautiful.
