Struggling With Constant Breakouts? Experts Share Acne Management Tips For Clear Skin

One of the biggest skin-related issues that is very common and most people tend to face is acne. People experience different kinds of acne depending on their skin type and health. Acne is a cause of great concern because if not treated right, it will leave a stubborn mark on the skin which might be all the more difficult to deal with. Sometimes drug store products like creams and serums tend to help clear out acne but sometimes these products do not work and might cause more harm than good.

If you, too, are suffering from acne and are looking for treatment or guidance on how to tackle the problem, we have brought to you experts’ opinions on the same. It is always better to hear it from an expert rather than experimenting with your skin and blindly buying products.

Treating acne depends on where the breakout has happened on the face. This site usually tells the cause of the problem and becomes easier to treat acne. Dr Manjot Marwah, an award-winning celebrity dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon, says that if you have acne along the jawline, it is time to test your hormones. She said, “If acne is along the jawline, get your hormones tested. They won’t go away with any medicines unless the hormones are fine. If you have acne on the hairline and forehead, the hair products are usually the culprits and need to be stopped.”

Sunscreen is very skincare’s holy grail which should never be skipped. Talking about its importance, Dr Marwah said, “Using a good moisturizer and sunscreen is very important. Because if you have red acne scars or inflamed acne, they usually leave a lot of pigmentation with sun exposure. So treating the inflammation is equally important as well.”

Taking care of and maintaining skin is very important to keep acne at bay. Knowing what kind of products suit your skin and what type your skin is of utmost importance as well. Dr Debeshi, an award-winning clinical cosmetologist and the head and founder of Northeast’s most advance & trusted clinic Lueur Aesthetics, has listed a few reasons why acne might break out. The reasons she gave are:

– The oil skin produces clogs the pores.

– Dead skin cell build-up also leads to clogging.

– The presence of a bacteria called propionibacterium acnes ( P.acnes) in the pores.

– Inflammation leading to redness.

Acne can be treated at home with proper care as well. The very first step in the acne-care regime is washing your face. I know, it sounds very trivial but it is very important to do so. Dr Debeshi suggests, “Wash your face twice a day with a moderate salicylic or glycolic acid, depending on how oily your skin is. To eliminate debris and oil build-up, a foaming face cleanser is a great option.”

The kind of food you eat also directly affects acne. Dr Debeshi says. “Cut back on food linked to triggering Inflammation. Certain foods, such as dairy, sugar, high carbohydrate, whey protein, and too much coffee, aggravate acne inflammation, thus it’s best to avoid them in your diet.” The consistency of your acne-fighting products is quite important. She suggests that you choose your products that are either gel, matte or serum-based.
