This Woman Takes A Bite Out Of Her Husband’s Packed Lunch Everyday. The Reason Will Melt Your Heart

Out of all the guys I have dated (there aren’t that many anyway), I have never found someone I wanted to build a future with. I know it sounds terrible but it’s true. Which is why every time I read cutesy love story it makes me a little envious. It’s like Rachel said when Monica and Chandler were getting married. I am 90% happy maybe 10% jealous. The latest thing that is tugging at my heartstrings is this anecdote I came across. A woman from Texas takes a bite out her husband’s packed lunch every day. The reason will melt your heart. 

Tracy Howell, from Texas, took to Facebook to share that she has been married to her husband, Clifford, for almost 41 years. She has been packing him lunch since the day they got married. 

She wrote, “Clifford and I have been married almost 41 years and I have made his lunch every working day since day 1.” Further adding, “On occasion I would join him on the job site and have lunch with him. He made the comment once that lunch tasted better when you share it with someone you love.”

This comment of his gave her the idea to have lunch with him every day. Then one day, when she couldn’t have lunch with him Tracy took a bite of his sandwich. She wrote, “Soon after that, while fixing his sandwich one night, I took a bite out of it before putting it away. When he got home (long before cell phones) he commented that someone took a bite out of his sandwich. I told him that since I couldn’t join him for lunch, I took a bite so he knew I was joining him.” Adding, “I continue to this frequently (unless it’s tuna or pimento cheese and he says ‘you joined me for lunch today and it sure it was good.” 

How adorable is that? These kinds of small traditions are really what keeps the spark alive in a relationship. Everything about this is so heartwarming.
