Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s 5-Year-Old Daughter Gets Rape Threats After CSK Lost A Match. This Is Disgusting

I don’t know if you’ll have noticed this but cricket has become a breeding ground for chauvinism and misogyny. Yes, there a cricket frenzy and most Indians are obsessed with our team but now, thanks to the Twitter trolling culture, it’s turning into a shit show. I am sure you know that every time a prominent player loses a match or doesn’t play his best, his wife and family are blamed and criticized. We saw this very recently with Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. But this time, these horrid trolls have taken things to a whole new level of disgust. You see, after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team lost an IPL match, men on social media threatened to rape his 5-year-old daughter, Ziva. 

Now you know why my blood is boiling at the moment. This is one of the most disgusting and shameful things I have ever heard. How do those assholes think it’s okay to send Dhoni’s minor daughter rape threats over a lost cricket match? And this comes when the entire country is still fuming over the Hathras incident. The rape culture in our country is so deep-rooted that these sickening men don’t even spare a 5-year-old girl. 

On Wednesday, Dhoni’s team Chennai Super Kings were playing Kolkata Knight Riders. They lost the match after CSK failed to reach the target of 168 set by KKR. This loss unleashed hell on social media and Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav were on the receiving end of all those brutal trolls. Unfortunately, it’s common for these “fans” to abuse and criticize the cricketer’s wives and girlfriends when they perform badly. But this Instagram user, Mr.Vijay_47, who sent Ziva, Dhoni’s daughter rape threats has reached all new heights.

Mr Vijay_47 dropped two comments. In both, he talked about how he would rape and impregnate Ziva. He also abuses Dhoni for losing the match. It’s some of the vilest comments I have read on social media until now. 

After screenshots of these comments appeared on Twitter, they seem to go viral fast. Netizens were quick to call out horrendous comments. One user wrote, “Just saw that Dhoni’s 6-year-old daughter Ziva is getting rape and death threats because he didn’t play well in #IPL2020. Do people realize what shit hole we have become? Can you even imagine where we are heading as a country? Morally dead and decayed nation!” Another wrote, “Man this is disgusting, Ziva is just a kid. I hope legal action is taken against this sick m*.”

What is the future of women in this country? A country where people threaten to rape a 5-year-old girl because her father didn’t play well in a cricket match. Those comments are horrifying. I am so sick of our daughters and our women having to suffer through this kind of torture because the majority of men in our country have this uncontrollable urge to make themselves feel in power by threatening rape and assault. Besides, have you stopped to think why that man’s first thought was to rape Dhoni’s daughter when CSK lost the match? Why are women and girls always threatened with rape? Just because social media offers a certain amount of anonymity men like Mr Vijay take undue advantage and drop these monstrous and vile comments. This is the rigid and disturbing mentality that has caused our country to be so highly unsafe for women.

This entire ordeal is extremely messed up. Whoever this man is, he needs to be held accountable for this.
