#HauteSpots: Where The Hauterfly Editors Go To Stuff Their Faces

By  |

While the #HauteSquad loves all things fashion and beauty, we love our food — like love. On any day, lunch at the Hauterfly HQ looks like a buffet spread — we care and we share. While we often experiment with our food choices and like hitting the latest eatery (and bar) in town, there are some restaurants that have found a little happy place in our hearts. We know, if nothing, these restaurants and cafes will always be there to feed us #FoodFirst. And it’s not just about the food — it’s the décor, service, ambiance, and the atmosphere of these spots that will convert all of you too! So next time you are in any of these cities, be sure to stop by at these #HauteSpots — you won’t be disappointed!

Sublime, Goa

“Located on the popular Morjim beach stretch, this restaurant is one of my favourite places for a meal in Goa. Run by chef Christopher Saleem Agha (he’s the American-born son of the late actor Jalal Agha), the fine dining restaurant has a seriously laidback vibe, and serves its signature fusion cuisine of contemporary and eclectic influences that reflect Chris’s multi-cultural exposure. The food, the cocktails, the location, the ambience… everything about this place is truly sublime!”

Bohemian, Kolkata

“I don’t like going out for Bengali food when I go to Calcutta — for me, the best Bengali food is home food. So, two years ago, when my dad wanted to take me for dinner to Bohemian on one of my trips home, I was skeptical. He insisted this place would surprise me — and it sure did! Bohemian serves fusion Bengali food that’s the best I had tasted in a while. With a host of international flavours peppering each traditional Bengali dish, Bohemian served up a tasty meal. I would highly recommend this #Hautespot for anyone visiting Calcutta.”

Bar Palladio, Jaipur

“More than the grub, I visit this place every time I’m in Pink City for its superbly warm ambiance. Set in the heritage hotel of Narain Niwas Palace, this beautifully done-up fine dining bar flaunts some of the most exquisite blue pottery in sync with its blue interiors. Totally hip! And if you want to enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner with bae, then opt for the outdoor seating on those comfy bed sofas.”

“If I’m ever in Goa, one place you’ll always find binge-eating and stuffing my face at would be Thalassa in Vagator! Set at the top of a beautiful hill with an even better view of the picturesque ocean, this is definitely my happy place! What you’ll find here is yummy food, happy people, and quaint Greek-inspired décor!”

Light House Cafe, Mumbai

So do you know how FRIENDS has Central Perk, How I Met Your Mother has MacLarens? Well, my friends and I have Light House Cafe. This quaint little pub tucked away in the streets of Khar is the perfect place to unwind on a Friday night. And if you’re looking for a little dance, then the pub turns into a mini nightclub on the dance floor post 11pm. With a mix of great music and beautiful warm lighting, Light House Cafe is the one-stop-shop for great food, reasonable drinks, and a fun time with your friends.”

“If Famous Five fused with your dream pastel Pinterest board the result would look like my favourite Delhi #HauteSpot, the quaint Rose Cafe in Saidulajab. My advice: visit for a leisurely brunch, linger on for High Tea, and sweet nothings with bae.”

It is literally perfect — from amazing plays that showcase some of the country’s best talent, to lip-smacking sandwiches that are great conversation starters, it has everything. What’s more? There’s a quaint little bookstore, where you can find a good read. Ahh! Fairy lights, hot coffee, and a fantastic read — life is good here.”

Café Des Arts, Pondicherry

“I am a country girl and I love everything that has some vintage, artistic charm to it. If I had to pick a #Hautespot to spend all my evenings at, it has to be Cafe des Arts in Pondicherry. This French cafe has a bohemian vibe to it with bright walls, huge bookshelves, and a cycle-rickshaw in the garden! Their banana waffles are heavenly. Damn, I need to plan another trip to Pondicherry soon!”

78 Boulevard Indore Favourite Hangout_Hauterfly

78 Boulevard, Indore

“Going to a-shady looking bar was never so cool — but at The 78 Boulevard, it so is! The name reminds you of some fancy street name from Sherlock Holmes’ stories. But it’s actually been named after from the original 78 boulevard, New York USA. It’s a retro-themed bar/restaurant with brick walls, an antique TV, aluminium utensils, tall glass bottles, and Victorian furniture. The founders of this place must be fond of Hollywood movies — there are so many elements and details borrowed from various film genre. The menu consists of fusion items, and a bunch of Italian and American options. And while you’re there, don’t forget to try their delicious range of shakes.”
