10-Year-Old Differently Abled Girl From Udipi Stitches Face Masks For Other Students. This Will Put A Smile On Your Face

By  |

I’ve always wondered what the world would really be like if all of us were a little more kind and considerate towards each other instead of being selfish and vindictive. Would there be less suffering? Would suicides be just a theory? Would we be more smiling, happier people? We can never really know. But there’s one girl who is putting a smile on people’s faces, one mask at a time. This 10-year-old amputee girl from Udupi didn’t wait for the world to become a happier place, she chose to contribute to our fight against Covid-19 in the way she knew best.

A 6th standard student of Mount Rosary English Medium School at Santhekatte Kallianpur, Sindhuri has come out as a warrior and an achiever during the pandemic, for she’s been managing to stitch masks for her fellow students.

Born an amputee, with no left hand below the left elbow, life hadn’t been too kind to Sindhuri since she was born, but that is not how she wanted the world to see her. Taking help of her mother who supported her, Sindhuri  stitched 15 masks to ensure the safety of her fellow students.

A scout and a guide for the students at her school, her target has been to stitch as many as 1 lakh masks for the students, which is no mean feat. And honestly, it doesn’t matter if she manages to hit the number or not,  we are thrilled to see just how much a young 10 year old, cares about helping others out with a zeal and ambition that is commendable.

Distributed to the SSLC students appearing for the exams today, her purpose was to support all students with precautionary care, but what she has also accomplished is that we are feeling inspired and motivated to get up and do our bit. After all, the only way we can fight this virus is together, and Sindhuri has definitely been leading by example!
