6 Last Minute DIY Gifts For The Super Dad!

6 Last Minute DIY Gifts For The Super Dad!

There’s just one day to go for Father’s Day, and if you’re like me — i.e. you haven’t sorted out a gift for your old man yet — you might be in trouble. You want to give him something more than just a card, so to solve that problem here are 6 quick DIYs that you can make in a jiffy. They are simple and a lot of fun and will definitely bring a smile to his face!

1. A Personalised Diary

If your father loves to write, go ahead and make a personalised journal for him. All you need to do is print out some pictures and stick them however you like. Decorate it with stickers, quotes, or something that he likes. Another idea would be to fill it with messages that he can read every time he has a bad day at work. Super simple and thoughtful!

2. A Moustache Mug

Whether your dad likes coffee or tea, this DIY mug will remind him of you every time he takes a sip. Buy a plain white ceramic mug and use a ceramic marker to draw a mustache on it. You can also take a plastic mug and use a permanent marker. If you want to add colour, go ahead and use permanent markers in various colours. You can also write out his favourite quote on it or even a simple “Love you, Dad!”. Plus, moustaches are adorable!

3. Ice-Cream Stick Coasters

Now that you have gifted him a mug, make a coaster for him to keep it on. Collect some ice cream sticks, thread, and tape, that’s it. Decorate it with materials of your choice. I would stick a picture of me and my dad so that it gives it a personalised feel. The best part of this DIY? You got yourself an excuse to eat ice creams.

4. A Necktie Eyeglass Case

This is something that I found to be really fun. Make a case out of an old tie to keep your dad’s glasses in. It is a “no sew” DIY, which makes it very simple to do. Though you will have to take a trip down to the stationary shop to buy some hot glue and Velcro patches.

5. Shaving Cream

If your father is not into mustaches, gift him a homemade shaving cream. Head to the kitchen and take out some shea butter, coconut oil and some fragrant oil. Choose a scent that your dad likes. My dad is a fan of peppermint and that is what I’ll use! Moreover, your father can share some of his cream with your mum too.

6. Fruity Liquor Jars

Fathers love their drinks, so why not gift them something on those lines? Mix his favourite liquor with his favourite fruit and create yummy drink jars. Vodka works best in this case, but you can also opt for Rum or Gin. Store it in cute jars that you can personalise and keep in the fridge. Whenever your dad craves a cocktail, all he has to do is open the fridge and voila!

P.S.: This DIY gift works best if prepared a few weeks in advance, but since you’re short on time, I suggest you prepare this gift with him. Spend some quality time together cutting all the fruits and making the cocktails!
