Yuvraj Singh Summoned By ED

Ex-cricketer Yuvraj Singh was called before the agency a day later, on September 23, as reported by India Today. The case reportedly involved money laundering linked to the operations of a betting app called 1xBet. This has been under the central agency’s scanner for suspected violations of the Indian law. From cricketers to film stars, many have been summoned by the ED for endorsing these doubtful applications. The recent reports come days after the ED also questioned cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina for the same.

Last Week, ED also called in TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty, Bollywood actor Urvashi Rautela, and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra to join the probe. Urvashi Rautela is the Indian ambassador of the 1xBet betting app. This platform is reportedly accused of money laundering, tax evasion, and rigging its algorithms. Customers may bet on thousands of sporting events through the brand’s website and app, which are available in 70 languages, according to the business.

The investigation appears to be about multiple people and investors who were allegedly deceived by unlawful betting applications or dodged a significant amount of taxes. Uthappa (39), Singh (43) and Sood (52) have been called to depose and have their statements recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a case involving the 1xBet platform, according to officials.
