Crimes against women in India are on the rise, and every other day, some shocking news pops up on our phones. Another unfortunate news has surfaced in New Delhi, where the director of a popular ashram has been accused of s*xual harassment. The serious allegations have been levied by 17 female students, who have narrated their ordeal to the police in a report, according to the news. Read on to know more about it.
What Is The Case?
Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, director of a Delhi ashram, has found himself in trouble after 32 students from the institute have accused him of s*xual harassment, out of which 17 are female students, as per a report by NDTV. The ashram is situated in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, and as per the police, the students have also accused him of sending dirty text, forced physical contact and the use of abusive language. The complainants have also accused the women faculty and administrative staff of forcing the students into following the demands made by the alleged accused.
The police was swift in filing charges and FIR against the accused based on the complaints. They have initiated the investigation against the accused and also did a raid at the Ashram, and even checked the CCTV cameras. As per the reports, the alleged accused is currently absconding, and the police is looking for him. During the investigation, the police also discovered that the diplomatic number plate being used by Chaitanyananda Saraswati for his car was also forged.

After the accusations, he was also removed from the position of the director by the administration.
