Mumbai Woman Rescues Girl Being Beaten Up By Boyfriend In Auto; Police Inaction Leaves Them Shocked

Anyone who says that women’s safety isn’t an issue now and that it’s safer for girls to roam around freely should read about this incident. On Thursday, August 8, a piece of horrific news came out when an Instagram handle called ‘andheriwestshitposting,’ revealed that a girl was being beaten up in an autorickshaw near the Adarsh Nagar signal in Oshiwara. While they luckily rushed to the nearest police station, the Oshiwara police came of no help to these women!

A Girl Was Beaten Up In A Rickshaw

On Thursday, August 8, the Instagram handle revealed that one of their former co-workers Eeshita was travelling in an auto when she heard another woman shouting in the auto beside. Thankfully, both the rickshaws stopped at the Adarsh Nagar signal in Oshiwara. When Eeshita asked the lady if she wanted help, she immediately said yes and that’s when she grabbed the lady’s hand and ran and directly went to the Oshiwara police station. But the man continued to follow them!

The compilation also included some screenshots of Eeshita telling the page owner about the incident. She revealed that it was that lady’s boyfriend who was beating her like crazy. When they ran towards the station screaming, no police officer stepped on to help them. Until Eeshita took out her phone and started recording, the man didn’t back off.  In the later chats, it was revealed that the police officers until she pointed out his mistake, no one from the station came to protect the two women. And even after that, no one asked anything about the oy’s family but continued to question the girl’s family.

But this wasn’t the end of this outrageous incident. A police officer seen in the video was giving them offensive advice. His exact words stated that the women were lucky to be living in Mumbai if they had been in Mumbai, they wouldn’t have managed to get out of the house after 8. He even talked to Eeshitas’s friends on the phone and asked them to teach him how “things work in Mumbai.” The police officers kept insisting she leave the lady at the police station and asked her to leave.  In the two attached videos, it was seen how the police officers were misbehaving with them and not helping in any way.

Internet Reacts

Angered towards the policemen’s behaviours, a user commented, “Can’t even imagine women going to the police station to report an incident if this is the way cops treat us. Their screaming & shouting is so triggering.” While another applauded Eeshita’s strong spirit, “Eeshita is so so brave, man. Got triggered while having déjà vu. This is why women don’t file reports or trust cops.” While many questioned Mumbai police saying, “Hello! So much for all your gimmicky Instagram posts. Please now actually do something about this. Funny how your Oshiwara branch reacted. Positive posts dalte waqt toh nobody has qualms, what now?”
