Even after several brutal cases of rape and s*xual harassment in the country, the authorities remain silent. Another alarming incident of eve-teasing was raised on a popular social media page. The incident was flagged by a college student from Mumbai who narrated the traumatic experience of going through eve-teasing over the last two years. She also highlighted the incompetency of the authorities in handling the situation. The same social media page also shared stories of other women who faced similar issues in the same locality. Mumbai Student Highlight Cases Of Eve-Teasing
The popular social media page Andheri West Shit Posting shared the screenshot of a message they received from a college student. In this note, the student revealed that a man is seen every day at gate number 3 and 4 of the famous Mithibai College, Mumbai. She further mentioned that the man continuously watches female students going inside the college while touching himself. The student also added that they approached the police to take action but they only made them write reports and did not take swift action against this. This has been happening for over two years, revealed the note. The girl also wrote that she avoids using the two gates mentioned above.

The social media page shared many other screenshots of messages where women shared similar disturbing experiences. The shared eve-teasing and catcalling incidents around NMIMS College, which is situated opposite Mithibai College. Some men even threatened the women with the example of the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case.

All the women spoke about the ignorance of the Mumbai Police and expressed fear regarding their safety.
