Who Is Rama Raju Mantena?
For the unversed, Rama Raju Mantena is a famous name in the US pharmaceutical industry. He owns Ingenus Pharmaceuticals, which has operations across the US, Switzerland, and India. Mantena has built many successful healthcare businesses over the years, which are backed by his strong background in computer science and clinical pharmacy. He comes from Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh and moved to the United States in the 1980s. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) before pursuing clinical pharmacy at the University of Maryland.
He began his career as CEO of P4 Healthcare in Florida, later founding ICORE Healthcare, the International Oncology Network (ION), and OncoScripts, companies focused on improving speciality healthcare and oncology treatment systems. While some reports call him a billionaire, available public data places his net worth at around US$20 million (about Rs 167 crore). In 2023, he reportedly bought a luxury estate in Florida worth nearly Rs 400 crore, with 16 bedrooms and a private beach.
Mantena is well noted for his philanthropic efforts. In 2017, he presented the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams temple with a 28 kg garland composed of 1,008 gold coins. He’s married to Padmaja Mantena. The celebrations, hosted at the Leela Palace and Jagmandir Island Palace, were attended by global stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber, as well as Donald Trump Jr., Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, and other prominent businessmen.
