Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is currently making headlines about his engagement with Samajwadi Party MP, Priya Saroj. She is also India’s youngest Parliament member, representing the Machhlishahr constituency of Uttar Pradesh. The duo is all set to exchange rings on June 8 in UP’s Lucknow. Who Is Priya Saroj Marrying Rinku Singh?
Hailing from Karkhiyaon village in UP’s Varanasi, Priya Saroj is among the country’s youngest MPs. She’s also continuing her father’s legacy with a career in politics. Her father, Tufani Saroj, was the three-time MP and is now the MLA from UP’s Kerakat. She began her career as a politician in 2024 and was soon selected as the MP of Machhlishahr after defeating BJP veteran BP Saroj by 35,000 votes.
Despite being from a political family, Priya studied to become a lawyer. She pursued her education from the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi. Then, according to the Lok Sabha website, she graduated with an LLB degree from Amity University, Noida. Saroj also went on to practice at the Supreme Court with her law degree. She told the Indian Express that she never imagined stepping into politics. She was preparing for her judgeship exam during Covid-19 and all seemed unreal even till her ticket was announced.
