In a major leadership change, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced Priya Nair as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. She will take over from August 1, 2025, the first woman to hold the position at HUL in its 92-year history and will be replacing Rohit Jawa. And here is all you need to know about Priya Nair.
Who Is Priya Nair?
Priya Nair will replace outgoing CEO Rohit Jawa, who is retiring at the close of July 2025. Jawa took the reins in 2023 and guided the company through a time of economic uncertainty and changing consumer patterns. It is being reported that Rohit Jawa is leaving to pursue new challenges, the company’s report said.
Currently, Priya Nair is the global President at Unilever for the Beauty and Wellbeing business. This business has experienced tremendous growth since she took over and comprises a number of main brands in personal care and wellness.
Nair comes with almost three decades of experience at HUL. She began her career at the company in 1995, assuming initial assignments as brand manager for brands such as Dove and Rin. She gradually progressed to more senior positions, including marketing, customer development, and head of the beauty and home care businesses in South Asia.
Her success in India led to global assignments. In 2022, she became Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing segment’s Global Chief Marketing Officer. A year later, she was elevated as President of the division.

Priya Nair earned her commerce degree from Sydenham College in Mumbai before securing her MBA in marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. She also attended a Harvard Business School leadership program later in her working life.
Nitin Paranjpe, HUL Chairman, welcomed her selection, citing her insight into the Indian consumer and her persistent performance across business divisions.
