She will be taking over the crown after 150 years because the last queen who carried the crown was in the 1800s. Who Is Princess Leonor?
The 20-year Princess Leonor is the elder daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. She also has a younger sister, Infanta Sofia, born in 2007. The monarchy reimposed in Spain in 1975 by King Juan Carlos I, and he passed on the legacy to King Felipe, his son. Now, the next to take over this crown is Leonor. King Felipe’s wife Queen Letizia was a journalist.
Also, there is a lot of training that the princess has to undergo to become the Queen. She got a diploma in International Baccalaureate as a part of her higher studies from UWC Atlantic College in Wales. Princess Leonor also began her military training has it is mandatory for the monarch to undergo Army, Navy, and Air Force trainings. The course was for 3 years. They also become the Commander-In-Chief and therefore the military training is important.
Not only this, Princess Leonor can also fluently speak and write in Spanish, Catalan, French, English, Mandarin and Arabic. She is also a trained pilot.
