Stoppable wasn’t the word that existed in Opal Suchata Chuangsri when she was crowned the 72nd Miss World on Saturday. With a simple dream of being ‘the person that someone would look upto,’ she became the first ever woman from Thailand to hold that title and we’re all so proud of her. Who Is Opal Suchata Chuangsri?
Opal Suchata was born on September 30, 2003, in Thailand’s Phuket, and was raised by a family of hoteliers. Suchata sharpened her communication and cultural fluency from Kajonkietsuksa School and Triam Udom Suksa School. She is fluent in Thai, English, ana Chinese. Her Miss World pageant profile states that she is a student of International Relations who aspires to be an ambassador. Opal is also interested in psychology and anthropology. Suchata has a unique knack for playing the ukulele backwards and owns multiple pets and kittens.

She has dedicated her life to promoting awareness about health and importance of early detection of breast cancer. At the young at o 16, she launched a campaign called, ‘Opal For Her,’ stemming from her personal experience from a benign breast lump which she got removed surgically. It is her mission to raise health awareness to women through knowledge. Opal told the judges she believed in her cause and that the beauty pegeant would further her cause.
According to the Miss World website, Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World Thailand 2025 on April 22. This was just a week before she flew to Hyderabad to compete in the 72nd edition of the Miss World. She also represented her country in the beauty pegeant the previous year also and finished as third runner-up. We’re so proud of her for talking about taboo topics and raising awareness about her along with writing history.
