India’s Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, is married to Kyoko Somekawa, who resides in Japan. We have often seen her attend political parties and events with her husband. Despite being one of India’s top political personalities, he hardly talks about his wife in public as he prefers to have a low-key life away from the media attention. As per several reports, their love story is not ordinary but straight out of a Bollywood film!

Reportedly, when S Jaishankar became the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian embassy in Japan, he met his now wife, Kyoko Somekawa. The Indian embassy was located in Tokyo, and the Minister of External Affairs worked there between 1996 to 2000. The duo met while working at the Indian embassy and eventually started talking to each other. As time passed, S Jaishankar and Somekawa fell for each other and started dating. Despite being from opposite cultures, the couple bonded beautifully with each other.
