A Dogra Rajput from Jammu, Sambyal was first in the limelight in 2021 when, as a Captain commanding the Jat Regiment, he led the Republic Day Parade contingent that bagged the “Best Marching Contingent Trophy” from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
