Hillang Yajik Wins Big!
Hillang Yajik, an athlete from Arunachal Pradesh won two medal for the country, one gold and the second silver at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025, The competition took place from from June 11 to 15, in Thimphu, Bhutan. With this historic win, Hillang Yajik became the first woman athlete from Arunachal Pradesh to win medals at the international competition.
Who Is Hillang Yajik
The 25-year-old athlete was selected for the international competition at the 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, 2024. She hails from Kurung Kumey, in Arunachal Pradesh. As per a report by NDTV Sports, Hillang Yajik dreams of becoming a police officer, and also wants to achieve medals at the Asian and World Championship.

The Arunachal Pradesh MP Kiren Rijiju congratulated Hillang Yajik for this huge feat in her career. In this tweet, Kiren Rijiju congratulated Hillang for scripting history. The Arunachal Bodybuilding Association (ABA) President Nabam Tuna also took to the social media handle to shower praises on Hillang and congratulate her for this historic moment. The ABA President not only hailed her personal success but also expressed in Hillang representing India on a global platform.
