In recent events, two young IAS officers made headlines after they decided to choose a different path for the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Aditi Varshney and Madhav Bhardwaj tied the knot without any grand celebration or traditional show and set the perfect example of simplicity in public life. Reportedly, the wedding was held inside the Mini Secretariat in Rajasthan’s Alwar. Without any priest or large procession, the couple had a court marriage in the presence of officials.

As per Bhaskar English, their marriage was registered in front of District Collector Dr Artika Shukla. Aditi Varshney and Madhav Bhardwaj exchanged garlands inside the chambers in just a few minutes, and staff members gathered to witness this wholesome moment. For the unversed, Madhav is serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Alwar, while Aditi is also posted as an SDM in Jamnagar, Gujarat. They won hearts with their simple and realistic wedding.
Varshney’s father, Dinesh, told the media outlet that a traditional ceremony will also be held in Bareilly. Bhaskar English reported that the couple originally met while training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. Their connection became closer over time as they discovered shared ideals and perspectives on public service. Their relationship eventually developed into a lifelong partnership. They determined early on that their wedding would be inexpensive and low-key.

Aditi, who is currently based in Jamnagar, is originally from Bareilly. She attended Bishop Conrad School before earning a BA Honours degree from Jesus and Mary College at Delhi University. Despite having enrolled in post-graduate studies, she dropped out halfway through to study for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
