WFI Sexual Harassment Case: Mahavir Phogat Wants Aamir Khan To Tweet In Support Of Wrestlers
But he is not on Twitter!
The wrestler’s protest in India against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh continues. Last week, the Supreme Court heard the wrestlers’ demand and ordered an investigation into the matter. Many well-known celebrities came out to support that wrestler’s fight and demanded an unbiased judgement on the matter. Recently, Mahavir Phogat, the father of wrestler and BJP leader Babita Phogat extended his support too. The former wrestler also revealed about his expectations of big stars regarding their support.

Mahavir Phogat, a former wrestler who rose to prominence after actor Aamir Khan played his character in Dangal interacted with the media. He shed light on the wrestlers’ protest against the WFI chief and claims of sexual harassment cases against him. The former wrestler gave his support to the case and stated that even his daughter and BJP leader, Babita Phogat also is a part of it. Furthermore, Mahavir Phogat also expressed his high expectations of Aamir Khan to speak on the matter. The Dronacharya awardee stated that he does not expect any other actor to support the cause except Aamir Khan, as per the news.

Actors like Swara Bhasker and Sonu Sood have spoken on the matter through their social media handles.
As per the news, Mahavir Phogat expressed his disappointment in the committee that was formed after the wrestlers’ protest in January. He said that the committee failed to give them justice, and they could not even meet Amit Shah for help.

The Indian Olympic Association chief PT Usha was also criticised for not helping the wrestlers even after receiving a letter from them. Vinesh Phogat, who is also one of the protesters bashed her cousin Babita Phogat for creating obstacles in the cause with her statements.

Another hearing on the case is supposed to take place on May 4 at the Supreme Court.
