Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Olympics made the entire country gloomy and disheartened. After her disqualification, the athlete announced her retirement, leaving all her fans and the people of India heartbroken. Ahead of the assembly elections, the athlete joined Congress. Recently, in an interview, Vinesh Phogat revealed that she refused to talk to PM Narendra Modi because of certain conditions. 

Why Did Vinesh Phogat Refused To Talk To PM Narendra Modi?

In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Vinesh Phogat revealed the reason she declined PM Narendra Modi’s call. Vinesh stated that she got a call from the Prime Minister, but she chose not to answer. It wasn’t a direct call to her and Indian officials who were there called her and told her that PM Modi wanted to talk. Vinesh was prepared to speak however, they set some conditions—no one from her team could be there, and two people from their side would record the conversation for social media. Vinesh didn’t want her feelings and hard work to be mocked on social media.

She further added that if PM Narendra Modi cared about athletes, he could have called without recording it, and she would have appreciated that. However, maybe he knew that if he talked to Vinesh, she would have asked about the last two years. Perhaps that’s why she was told that she couldn’t bring her phone. Additionally, they could edit the video on their side, but they wouldn’t edit hers. Since she wanted to post the original video. So, they refused. Earlier, Vinesh Phogat expressed her disappointment over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence over protest against former wrestling federation chief and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
