Carrom was one of the favourite indoor sports of every 90’s child. Now, we hardly see children playing this game,. And if you have played it too, you know that this sport requires technique and steady hands. But if you got the grip, you will never forget it, no matter how old you are. And a perfect example of this is going viral on social media, where an 85-year-old grandmother’s carrom skills and achievements in this sport have become an inspiration for Twitterati.

The video shared by a Twitter user, Akshay Marathe was of his grandmother who won a carrom tournament at the age of 85. She won gold at the city-level carrom championship that took place in Pune. The Twitter user shared a video of his grandmother playing carrom in Pune’s All-Magarpatta Carrom Tournament. She bagged a gold in the doubles round and a bronze in the singles of this tournament. Akshay Marathe also praised his grandmother’s carrom skills even at this age and pointed out that her hands are steadier than many younger age group people.

Akshay Marathe also gave some glimpses from his grandmother’s practice sessions and took a little credit behind her win. The pictures shared by the user show him playing with his grandmother whom he calls, “Aaji.” BTW, even in the practice sessions, his grandmother beat him.
