Giorgia Meloni took to her social media and shared the fake viral picture of her sitting in a bed in lingerie. This edited picture was shared by a social media user with some critical comments. She later exposed this and warned people against AI-generated visuals and how these could be used to spread false information. Her X (Previously Twitter) post stated, “In these days, several fake photos of me are circulating, generated with artificial intelligence and passed off as genuine by some diligent opponent.”
Meloni shared a light comment that the manipulated picture, in a way, made her look pretty while questioning how people were willing to fabricate content just to target someone. The Italian PM said that this scandal was too personal and warned everyone how deepfakes could be a threat and harm to anyone. While she was in a position to defend herself, usually others are not. She concluded by urging people to be cautious about interpreting such content.
